Terms of Service — CompressGuy

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or utilizing the CompressGuy application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the App.

2. User Responsibility & File Deletion

CompressGuy provides tools to compress video files and assist you in cleaning up local and iCloud storage space on your device. The App acts solely as an on-device utility executing commands at the explicit request and confirmation of the user.

CRITICAL WARNING REGARDING DELETION & DATA LOSS

1. Accidental Deletion: Any action to compress a video, replace an original video, or delete a video file is initiated solely by you. CompressGuy asks for confirmation before performing modifications. Once confirmed, original files are deleted via iOS system APIs and moved to the native Photos "Recently Deleted" folder. The App is not responsible for files permanently deleted by user mistake, or files emptied from the "Recently Deleted" folder.

2. Media Quality Verification: It is your sole responsibility to review the quality of any compressed video asset before choosing to purge or delete the original source file. We offer an interactive side-by-side A/B preview gesture to help you evaluate results. CompressGuy accepts no liability if a compressed output does not meet your quality expectations after the original has been permanently discarded.

3. iCloud & Offloaded Videos: The App scans and visualizes both local and iCloud-offloaded storage. If iCloud library files fail to download properly due to network or system errors during compression, CompressGuy is not liable for associated processing failures or media loss.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE OPERATION OF THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF TEMPORARY SYSTEM CORRUPTIONS.

4. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL COMPRESSGUY, ITS DEVELOPERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PERSONAL MEMORIES, DATA CORRUPTION, OR THE LOSS OF ORIGINAL OR COMPRESSED PHOTO LIBRARY ASSETS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

5. Intellectual Property

The App design, UI assets, layouts, algorithms, codebases, and website materials are protected by intellectual property laws. You agree not to decompile, reverse engineer, distribute, or copy any portions of the App without express written authorization.

6. Terms Modifications

We reserve the right to revise these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App following any updates constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
